Vendors comments;
The house at No 81 has been in our family for over 60 years, and was bought by our parents as their family grew. It is a lovely location, up a quiet cul-de-sac just a couple of minutes walk from Greenwich Park. With a huge garden and access to the park (with an excellent playground) and to Blackheath for kite flying, there was plenty of space for five boys to run around and keep themselves amused. In the summers we camped in the garden, being evicted only when our parents wanted the space for garden parties for the extended family. In winters, the tobogganing down One Tree Hill was exhilarating, especially on the one part where you actually become airborne.
The neighbourhood is very settled, with lots of long-term residents who help each other out and hold street parties from time to time. When our father became elderly, various neighbours volunteered to assist him go for his daily walk in the park or with moving furniture as required. If anyone needs printing paper, mislays their cat or can’t be home to put the bins out, there is always support.
Our fondest memories of the house are taking visitors up onto the roof for a spectacular view out over London, or sitting by the fountain on a warm evening chatting and listening out for the geese flying over. It has been a wonderful family home, with endless opportunities for hospitality, adventures and childhood adventures, and we hope it will continue in that way for the new owners.
