For example, Upper Street is famous for its huge range and number of restaurants, local theatres including the The Almeida, Saddlers Wells, and numerous theatre pubs, not least The Kings Head, The Hope and Anchor and the famous Little Angel Puppet Theatre. To the east and south there are an eclectic range of restaurants, bars and clubs. To the west is Kings Cross with its almost weekly shop, restaurant and bar openings.

To the east in is De Beauvoir Town, with beautiful streets and squares of early Victorian terraces, and again popular with families. Kingsland Road with an ever increasing range of restaurants and bars is close by.
South of Upper Street are Regents Canal, Islington and Wenlock basins and is where warehouse and contemporary apartment blocks now predominate. Within walking distance of both Angel and Upper Street, Shoreditch and Hoxton, this area is popular with younger buyers, particularly those working in the City and hi tech sector.

Islington’s rise has been driven in no small part by it’s central location making it ideal for a quick commute to the City, Mid Town and the West End. Angel tube to the south is on the Northern line. Highbury and Islington tube at the northern end of Upper Street is on the Victoria line and Caledonian tube to the west is on the Piccadilly line.
Overground stations to the east at Dalston, Haggerston, Hoxton and Shoreditch have been something of a game changer for the eastern end of N1 connecting to the south and Docklands.
